Confessions of a Dental Hygienist
September 24, 2021 5:59 pmBeing a dental hygienist is a tough but rewarding job. In today’s post, we’ll give you a little glimpse behind the scenes at how our hygienists really feel about their time at work.
We Want You to Like Visiting the Dentist
We know that a dental visit can be a source of stress and anxiety for many of the patients we see, and that makes us sad! We love seeing each and every one of our patients, and we want you to enjoy the experience too. If you’re dealing with dental phobia, reach out to us. If we’re aware of what you’re feeling, we can draw from our experience with so many patients like you to help you feel comfortable and at ease.
We Can Tell When You Haven’t Been Flossing
And, yes, we can tell when you just flossed once or twice leading up to the appointment to make it seem like you’ve been flossing. And it’s not because we’re good at spotting a lie, it’s because flossing really works. Make sure you commit to flossing once every day to remove the bad stuff that builds up between the teeth and gums. If you allow it to accumulate, you’ll be putting yourself at risk for lasting damage to your teeth and gums.
Don’t Forget to Brush
Brushing regularly is super important, and we’ll tell you that at your appointment. But what we’re telling you now is to brush your teeth before your appointment. Please! It makes the experience so much more efficient, and more pleasant for us!
