Denver Museum of Nature & Science
Located in downtown Denver, Colorado, the city’s Denver Museum of Nature & Science is a great place to visit with family. This museum was founded by Edwin Carter in 1868 and is a resource for informal science education in the Rocky Mountain region. The Denver Museum of Nature & Science has an extensive collection of objects and archival resources, and offers a wide variety of programs and activities for families.
Visitors can view more than 4,000 animals at the zoo. You’ll see a wide variety of creatures, including black rhinoceros, Komodo dragons, and rare Amur leopards. You can also ride on the Pioneer Train, which provides an exciting trip around the zoo grounds. There’s also an outdoor amphitheater for presentations by wildlife. The museum’s house of lions is a beautiful example of Victorian architecture in Denver. It has English Baroque architecture with sash windows and triangular pediment above a porch. The museum has a wide variety of exhibits and workshops throughout the year. Entry to this museum is free for those 17 years of age or younger. The museum is open Tuesday-Thursday from 12 p.m. to 7pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5pm.

City Park is the largest park in Denver. The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is located within this park and serves as a hub for community programs and social gatherings. The Denver Zoo and Downtown Aquarium are also within walking distance of the museum. The Colorado Mint offers tours of the building, and you can purchase souvenirs from its gift shop. The gardens are a fantastic way to spend a day in Denver. There are over thirty species of plants at the Denver Botanic Gardens, which sit on 23 acres near Cheesman Park. It is considered one of the nation’s top conservatories.
